LiveWyre is an original instrumental project that blends improvised and textural qualities of jazz with the sensitivities and emotional storytelling of movie soundtracks, blended with hard grooves of r'n'b, funk and fusion music. Founded and led by acclaimed composer and keyboardist Ben Matthews, this super group has performed at countless venues and events including the Perth International Jazz Festival and the WAM Song of the Year Awards Party since their debut album release in 2016.

2021 saw the successful crowdfunding of their anticipated second album From There To Here. The music features original compositions that draw influence from genre-blending jazz artists such as Herbie Hancock, Esperanza Spalding, Gretchen Parlato, Robert Glasper and Snarky Puppy.

“This project is all about balancing elements. I want the music to be technical but accessible; I want it to be sensitive and explosive. I want the compositions to tell a story without words, but also to provide a platform for the musicians to bring their stories into the music through improvisation and interpretation. I want the music to showcase technicality and emotionality.”
